Optical
diagnostics
The
MLL works on new imaging devices, like optical coherency tomography
(OCT) and their clinical applications. Currently, the fast and simple
technique of the spectral radar is evaluated, e.g. in ophthalmology.
For applications in urology and gastroenterology,
an OCT-endoscope is developed.
Current example:
The device
shows a spectral domain OCT system developed at the MLL/BMO
and an OCT picture of the dermis and a finger-pad.
The OCT enables a non-invasive in-vivo biopsy, which nearly reaches
the resolution of standard histology.
