SRT
Based on ideas
and patents of the MLL, a new innovative laser treatment at the
retina, selective retina therapy (SRT), is currently clinically
investigated in co-operation with our partner Lumenis Inc.
For SRT, basic investigations were performed at MLL. The necessary
laser technology as well as an on-line dosimetry procedures were
realized and tested prior to the clinical study. After a first clinical
pilot study prototypes were developed, certified in accordance with
the European medical product law. SRT with MLL-systems is currently
clinically investigated at the University eye clinic of Lübeck
and Kiel, and at the St. Thomas Hospital in London. The example
SRT demonstrates the entire range starting with basic ideas and
investigations up to clinical evaluations. |
